EC Regulation 1223/2009 became effective throughout Europe on July 11, 2013 (a similar regulation has also come into effect in the United States).
“The manufacturer who states on the packaging: Natural or Organic product must indicate the name of the board that certified the product (i.e.: ECOCERT)”
There are still many companies that include the word organic or natural in their brand, product name or on their packaging, but they are not certified and the products contain chemical substances that are harmful to your health and beauty!!
Almost every manufacturer who claims to be natural or organic in professional salons are not certified and are illicit!! INCREDIBLE BUT TRUE.
Another fraud to your detriment is represented by manufacturers who use the organic farming certification board's logo under ingredients, thus trying to fool you and make you believe that the cosmetic is certified!!
The product in question has some organic ingredients that are often marked with an * and the logo of the board that certified these ingredients as organically farmed. In this case, the formula is not certified but just those few ingredients!!
Many boards (including Ecocert, Soil Association) that certify organic cosmetics also certify organic farming. The brands are the same and the consumer is easily fooled!!
BE CAREFUL even if the brands are the same, the wording organic cosmetics should appear next to the board’s brand when the cosmetic is organically certified.
If you want to be sure, just visit the board's website to see if the product is certified as organic cosmetic.
